On site, you will find...
Facilities tailored to ensure that everyone is comfortable, regardless of the season or time of day.
Spaces designed to meet a variety of needs and uses, and to ensure your visit to the multimedia library is a pleasant experience.
Drop boxes
Drop boxes allow loaned documents to be returned outside the multimedia libraries.
These are accessible 24 hours a day for Simone Veil, André Malraux, Neudorf, Mélanie de Pourtalès and Olympe de Gouges multimedia libraries, and only during closing hours for Gisèle Halimi, Meinau and Hautepierre multimedia libraries.
The multimedia libraries of Cronenbourg, Elsau, Neuhof and the mobile Bibliobus library do not have drop boxes.
WORK SPACES
The Simone Veil, André Malraux, Neudorf, Mélanie de Pourtalès and Olympe de Gouges multimedia libraries have work spaces to be used by all. At the Malraux multimedia library, some tables are equipped with sockets to allow you to plug in your personal computer. Group work is also possible as long as it does not disturb other users.
BABY READING AREAS AND CHANGING TABLES
Baby reading areas entirely designed for the very young and their carers are freely accessible in the Gisèle Halimi, Simone Veil, André Malraux, Hautepierre and Meinau multimedia libraries. Here you will find hardback books, touch & feel books, cloth books, picture books, alphabet books or animated books suited to 0 to 3-year olds. Couches, poufs and floor mats will allow you to sit comfortably for a spot of reading or discovery..
ACCESS TO AN OUTSIDE AREA
In the summer, you can make the most of the outdoor areas to read or simply relax: there’s Bergerie Park at the Cronenbourg multimedia library, the 100 m2 patio at the Hautepierre multimedia library, the 100 m2 reading garden at the Mélanie de Pourtalès multimedia library, the terrace at the Simone Veil multimedia library, and the outdoor area at the Neuhof multimedia library.
Please contact each multimedia library to find out when these spaces are open.
AIR-CONDITIONED SPACES
Particularly useful in hot weather: the Simone Veil, Gisèle Halimi, André Malraux, Olympe de Gouges and Meinau multimedia libraries (digital room) have air-conditioned or cooled areas that are open to all.
A CAFETERIA, DRINKS MACHINES AND WATER FOUNTAINS
A cafeteria is available at the André Malraux multimedia library during opening hours. It sells coffee, hot and cold drinks, savoury snacks and pastries.
